News is something everyone relies on. Whether you are 10 or 110, you
count on the news to bring you the facts of the day’s big stories. Without the news reaching its audience, many
Americans would be misinformed or, even worse, uniformed about the events
taking place around the globe.
Journalism is a field that is changing every day. Over the last 40
years, journalism has expanded its horizons. It’s grown from print, to
television, and now to mobile and the web. But no matter what the medium is,
the quality of journalism should not change. We, as journalists, are seen as
the eyes and ears of the viewers. Our responsibility is to be fair and balanced.
My name is Tim Carrico. I’m 18 years-old and from the southern part of West
Virginia. I’m very interested in broadcast news and cannot wait to begin the
JFresh Newsroom experience.
