As you can tell from the numerous
posts on this blog, there is not one blanket definition for news. To me, that
is what’s so wonderful about it-that news comes in all different forms of media
and covers all types of stories. What qualifies as news is endless, but news
that is reported ultimately depends on what people care about. That is
essentially what news is: information that people care about and can readily
access.
While
news is the content that can be accessed, journalism is the art of making the
content accessible. Journalism is paying attention to what is newsworthy and
what information the public wants to have access to. It is taking a piece of
information and turning it into a story. Journalists take those stories and
present them to the public through different mediums of media.
